7 Down 33 to Go...sigh

Okay, I can't believe I am doing this because these type of things make me nervous.  Not because I am a private person by any means, but because of that nagging feeling...what if no one asks?  So here goes nothing, as I was ASSURED someone would ask something.  Anyway, I can't believe there is anything you would want to know about us that isn't already in one of the posts I have written in the past almost 18 months, but if there is something go ahead and ask either one of us.  Dd is what it is around here, so there really isn't much to write about on that subject right now.

There has been no opportunity for r/a because the kids are home for March Break.  Barney did find time to wield his evil cane the other night, ( which for the first time ever had me bawling after a punishment, not  so much over guilt I don't think  just so many emotions on  running on overload over here)

~ Anyway who knew he didn't like to be snapped at over loading the dishwasher?  Meh, live and learn.

Now....

You know those annoying people that say they get addicted exercise?  Yeah, so not me.  In truth if I didn't start this #$@% challenge I probably would have said,
 " @#%$ it!" on day 2 !

  Day one and two found me 'running' the stairs in our home for 30 minutes.  It usually goes something like this : first 10 minutes speed demon;

 next 5 minutes @#$% I HATE this!
next 5 minutes, "oh I am almost half way there!"
next 5 minutes " @#$% I hate this!!! ";

 then, " I'm almost done!"

After " wow that was good, and MAN I am sweaty!"

Day 3 Mother Nature decided to tease us with some okay weather so Barney decided to come with me for a walk OUTSIDE.  I might have a bit of a reputation of not being a slow walker.  Barney, while on his feet most of the time for work....not so much a walker.  Here are a few snippets from our quality time together-

" Hey you didn't signal"

" I think I pulled a hamstring" <-this was LITERALLY before we left the neighbourhood

Wilma- " How come the wind is still in our face after we changed directions? "
Barney- " That is because we are walking 40 Km an HOUR! "

" My doctor didn't clear me for this type of exercise"

Sadly, the two previous days of stair torture climbing had caught up with me midway through our walk. Not too mention I chose to wear my winter hiking boots:

By the end of our walk  the tables had turned somewhat

Fortunately Day 4 offered up the chance to go outside and shovel! LOL.  So for an hour and a half I shovelled, chopped and shovelled again in order to find our back deck to sit in the sunshine.  Sadly no wine to be had as it is off of my list for the next 40 days.

Another couple of days of outside walking until yesterday when Mother Nature decided she wasn't done with torturing us

Back to the @#$% Stairs it was for me!

So YES I did reach all of my goals.  Surprisingly, the toughest one was and continues to be drinking 8 glasses of water a day.

I should have included all the going to and from the bathroom in my exercise regime.  I mean think of the squats alone!

**********

Anyway I survived!  I hope all of you who have joined the challenge publicly, or behind the scenes are finding success too.  Let me be honest, if it wasn't for publicly putting this out there I probably wouldn't have completed my tasks!

  1. Lol, your so funny! But really, no wine for the next 40 days, are you CRAZY!!! I'm an exercise nut and I wouldn't even go that far, it's the only thing that keeps me sane these days, or my butt safe! Lol. I do agree with it being so hard with all the water drinking, I've only vowed to 5 glasses a day and I find that hard.

Well I'm glad that you've decided to join the march question month, lets see if I can help you out and come up with some good questions for ya. Hmm.....still thinking.....hmmm....ok, I know, what is your most embarrassing moment? If money wasn't an object, where would your dream vacation be? If you were invited to a free weekend at a nudist camp, would you go? When you were a child what did you want to be when you grew up? What is your favorite children's book?

Well that's all I've got for now :)

    1. Hey Kim
Well I am *NOT* an exercise nut, ( um that fact got lost in my post) so I NEED to give up wine! Actually all this water drinking doesn't leave much time for the desire to drink anything else! Or the TIME!!!
Barney said to me the other day after my umpteenth trip to the bathroom, " How can a guy 6 foot 5 and you require the same amount of water each day...I don't buy it".. But then during r/a yesterday he informed me the water consumption will be staying. Not entirely sure what that means, but I don't think I like it!

As for your multitude of questions, are you jonesing for a post just for your answer? LOL.

  2. Observations:

1 You will wear out the finish/carpet on your stairs and require the costly exercise of re-finishing them or recarpeting them.

2 You will damage your knees ensuring a cartilage operation at the very least in around ten years' time.

3 You will slip, stumble or both and fall arse over tit down the bloody stairs!

4 Well bless your bladder, because if you can drink a gallon of water a day, I jolly well couldn't. The office in the bathroom joke would become a reality. In fact I would have to install a hosepipe!

Personally I think that Kim has found the only few questions left to ask you, but let me think a minute here.

    Bikini or swimsuit?

Ever skinny dipped as an adult?

Ever shaved Barney's eyebrows off whilst he slept, as a joke?

Do you take sugar in your tea/coffee and if you do, have you ever tried fruit sugar as an alternative to either cane or beet sugar?

Is there a spanking implement you still haven't got? LOL!

    Hugs
    Ami

    1. Hello TROUBLE..oh yes you read that right! Shaving off an eyebrow. Not difficult to see how I maintain my angel status around here- there is little competition!

      1) I 'run' the stairs for 30 minutes, doesn't mean I actually hit it one many times- especially towards the crawling end..LOL
      2) Doubt it as there is an END date to this torturous exercise regime
      3) Been there done that! Many , many times! Not usually during exercise though. Bonus if it does happen I can legitimately blame these blasted bruises on something if there are witnesses!
4)URGH! I was told I'd get used to it....another lie like exercise becoming addictive!

I guess between you and Kim, I have to do like a post now! I didn't think this through at ALL...LOL

  3. LOL! Congrats on week one, Willie! Keep up the great work. You might be surprised at the end of these 40 days to find that you may be an exercise addict yourself! :) It's probably a good thing I can't see you as you read this, huh? Seriously, once you establish exercise as part of your routine, and you start seeing and feeling real results, if you don't do it for a few days, you really do feel like you're missing something important. I've also been able to meet my goals, so far anyway. The snacking thing has been kind of hard, but the thought that I actually told another person that I wasn't going to...that really did make a difference. Enough to keep me on track. When you run the stairs, do you listen to music? When I workout, I think it helps me a lot to have something high energy cranked up on the stereo.

So, on to the questions! I was wondering if you were going to participate, glad you are :)

What is your idea of a perfect day? Where would you be, who be there, and what would you be doing?
What is your favorite food? What are the top 3 things on your bucket list?

I should probably go exercise now.......

    Hugs, Queenie

    1. and CONGRATS TO YOU TOO QUEENIE !!! You too had a smashing week! Way to Go!!

I will NOT be addicted to exercise after 40 days I can guarantee it. Sweet of you to try though! lol.

I listen to music when I 'workout' in anyway, when I run the stairs, hula hoop ( although sometimes I watch tv), walk, shovel. Life is always better with music. When I need to push it, I put raunchier music on!

I know exactly what you mean about telling people in order to keep yourself in line. Every time I want to say, " oh I'll take today off, I remember- crap I started this bloody thing. I can't be the first one to fall! " Barney said he has been so happy I have been exercising even if it meant that he wasn't the motivator ( I have been spanked a few times for not exercising). He did say he intends to keep motivating me...Not sure I want to know what that means.
I'll answer your questions with my next update I suppose!

  4. Not sure that I could make it on the no wine for 40 days thing either Willie! Good for you I say! When I was a kid we got to enjoy the thing that we gave up for lent on Sundays during lent. Did you ever hear of that? Might be your out for an occasional glass of submisison! :)

Apart from spanky and making love stuff, how do you and Barney like to spend time together? What are some of your fav songs? Many hugs,

    1. Actually now that you mention it ( as did Janey) I do remember my Mom saying that. Oh well I know me and I have to be consistent every day if I want to keep at it.

I have given up drinking of any kind many times before. It actually isn't a difficult thing for me. Especially because now I have all this bloody WATER to fill me up.

I'll put a post up this week with the answers to your questions
      thanks Katie

  5. End of Week 1 report: Walked every 2nd day; tick. No booze except on the week end; tick. On the infernal machine each day....Sorry, by day 3 this 60 year old body threw a spanner in the works. So the Quack has reduced this to alternate days...walk one day, exercise the next.

But I am feeling good after only a week. I keep telling myself it will be alright in the end.

Hang in there...Easter is just around the corner.

    1. Well sounds to me like you made it Don! I mean you are still exercising every day. That is fantastic!

I am happy you are feeling good. My blood pressure is down this week. I doubt it is because of the exercise as I have done it longer in the past with no results. Perhaps it is the water?

Here is to both of us crossing that finish line at Easter!

  9. Congrats on meeting your goals! The drinking--- 8 glasses of WATER kills me. I can stay away from the loo for awhile then.......its constant.
So water drinking is not one of my goals. I think that two Martinis on the weekend will be a goal!
Anyway.....I will maybe rethink my goals since I didn't meet them!

Question? Hmmmmmm......What is a favorite part of YOUR body that you love? ie...eyes....smile....hair....

    1. I would imagine with what you do for a living Minelle running to the loo isn't very practical. I have basically managed to work it so I am no longer up at night. Tonight will be a different story as we went shopping this morning ( NOT drinking water before then) so I didn't start drinking until later in the day....and yes still sadly talking about WATER.

I can answer your question right now...LOVE? none...LOL..

  10. Here's a question that nobody has asked yet... What have you and Barney NOT done since you were dating oh those many years ago that you'd LOVE to do again? (and it's MM asking...)

  11. Well done with all that exercising you've done sooooo much. I'm thinking that it surely must be enough for both of us!
Remember: there are only 40 days of Lent; the Sundays do not count - true fact!
I made the huge mistake of working from home today. The proximity to the toaster and coffee machine is just too tempting! I don't really understand this though as I was also close to the tap for water and the exercise bike, neither of those things called to me once. Strange!

    Question.......hmmmm
What parts of Barney do you like best? What parts of yourself do you like best?

    1. OMG Janey you kill me. Your comment made me laugh!

Thanks for the facts. I need to continue on every day though. I don't have the willpower to change course for a day, ( although I may pull the, 'this is MY Sunday" as a raincheck sometime)

Why do I HAVE to like part of myself? Where is that written? Okay I'll give that one some thought before next week.

  13. Yay Willie! It sound like you are doing so well on your fitness goals! But the cane....I didn't know you guys had one, but I can see how it would leave you sobbing if used for punishment. We don't have one, but Ash likes long thin dowels to break over my backside :-( Here are some questions: if you had to choose to either grow a foot our shrink a foot(in inches, not the left or right!) Which would you choose and why? Do you believe in ghosts, aliens, magic? Do you have a favorite essential oil? Thanks for the opportunity to ask! Good luck meeting your goals this week :-)

    1. Thanks River!

We have had a cane since Christmas. It is okay. Nothing is worse than wood in my humble spanking opinion, yet wood is what I prefer. Don't ask! No the spanking breakdown I believe was due to a lot of emotional stress I was under, and I didn't realize it I suppose. Also most likely why I snapped at Barney in the first place.

Wow...your questions are going to take some explaining so people don't think I'm nuts....or well have concrete proof of it anyway!

So far so good this week...

Questions: What's on your bucket list?

  16. Willie you are a hoot. I don't think I have ever read a more entertaining exercise report lol. Thanks for the laugh :)

I gather you are a fan of stair walking then LoL. Well, you DID start this challenge :) Stair walking is my main form of exercise as you know and I have managed to keep it up pretty well during the week. Average 3 times a day, 11 floors.

Your description of the walk with Barney cracked me up. With my height it may take me 3 steps to everyone else's 1 step, but I'm no dawdler when I walk either.

As for questions - What is your favourite movie? What is the one change within yourself since starting your ttwd adventure that you are most happy about?

    1. Roz, as you are aware at 5 foot 2 I tower over you....but I can keep up with the over 6 footers too. My sister is quite tall and we were walking together one day. When we reached the end of the block, she grabbed my arm and said, " Okay STOP! We are going to kill ourselves". Turns out she was watching my strides, and increased her number to match mine. I in turn was taking more steps to keep up with her long legs. LOL!!!

I have only done the stairs once this week. I kind of addicted to the hula hoop. Plus I can watch t.v. and do it! lol

      Thanks for the questions Roz.

OK I am behind...only got around to 30 minutes twice this week. Guess I will go for four times next week to make up. I think you are a hoot!

Ok I will ask the same question I asked Sadie. If an alien space ship landed in your yard and said they wanted to speak to the smartest person on the planet, who would you tell them to talk to? (Can't be Barney or me even though I know you would immediately think of us!) LOL

  19. You're doing great! Drinking water and getting consistent exercise are two things I always mean to do. I'm joining your challenge, but setting modest goals. I can walk stairs at work so I commit to 12 flights 3 times a week and having two bottles of water each work day.

Now for questions ... I'm afraid I'll ask something you've talked about on a post I haven't read. Is there a place here in the US you'd like to visit? Do you have any hobbies?
