So what to say about Love your Lurkers day 7 ? First off I wasn’t even a lurker this time last year. Yup, hard to believe the woman who sits here typing today didn’t even know that Dd existed this time last year! Now I am pouring out my heart almost on a daily basis for the ‘world’ to see.
I started lurking in the spring I guess. I think I stumbled on Mick’s blog because of a Google search. It had the word husband in it. Believe it or not that is how I found Dd because of the word HUSBAND. Hmm? Must give that some thought. Anyway, I read for a really long time, clicking from one blog to the next. I think the first comment I made was on Stormy’s blog, Shelter from the Storm-( I still don't know how to link other blogs here). I couldn’t believe I had done that! I mean initially I felt I had no right. I was not part of the community. Heck my husband didn’t even know about Dd, much less practice it ! My comment was in reference to the beauty of their love in that particular post not about Dd directly, so that gave me some comfort. I signed it “C” as I didn’t have one of those blog ID thingies. I was still so nervous, even though she didn’t know who I was, and that I never had to look again if I didn’t want to.
I felt the feeling of love that can be seen in this community as a lurker and I thought I was like the uninvited guest showing up at the table. That is so not true. There is ALWAYS room for one more at the ttwd table….even if you don’t eat the same food! I learned that almost instantly from her kind reply. I started to comment on a few other sites here and there, with similar results.
The more I read, the more I actually wanted to have a relationship with my husband like the people in this community do with their spouses. THAT is not to say that if you are not living a Dd lifestyle or if you don’t intend to we value your comments any less. You may do the things we do and you may not, but the core of the subject matter is still about relationships. Any point of view, even a different ( or perhaps especially a different one )is always welcome! Actually different points of views usually end up being the more thought provoking ones, and can allow for the most growth.
I am not exactly sure when it happened but I realized that signing “ C” was fine and all but I really should get one of those Blogger ID thingies. Then I thought, what better way to help me with my journey ie, “coming out “ if you will to my husband than to start a blog of my own ? But that is another story.
I will say one thing I have told a few lurkers who have delurked, IF you think you may want to blog down the line, get a Blogger ID. (CHOOSE YOUR NAME WISELY… you might saddle yourself with a name like WILMA for all of blogging eternity ! and don't even get me started on how HOT the name Barney is!) I say this because when you comment, people will know it is you and when you blog they will find you! I had to go around after I started blogging explaining I was ‘C’ to a few people.
BUT no matter if you want to blog in the future or not. PLEASE say hello today, tomorrow. next week. I know you are out there reading. Barney and I love to see on the blogger which countries everyone is from who comments ( don’t worry we don’t know WHO is in each country, it just tells us someone from
is reading our blog). India
We are a fun loving community. We are respectful of each other and those who comment. We are not exclusive though. We welcome new commentors with open arms…heck look at me – I’ve only been around ( writing) for 7 weeks or so…and yet here I am saying WE !
COMMENT! I don’t bite ( unless asked ). And
…what’s that? …(Barney is yabbering in my ear)…
*******Oh for the love of all things holy! ******
He said…( to you lurkers out there)
“Write, you know you love me ( Barney) so leave me a comment and tell me how much “
…yes dear it is ALL about you! Sheesh…ego much ?!
He then added ( referring to himself)
“ Not hard to love a guy who doesn’t comment”.
True and timely Barney. So comment so we can get to know and ‘love’ you too!- Um, you lurkers not Barney!
Thanks for Lurking! I hope you continue to read…lurker or not.
